~~~ The Thrill Of You ~~~
Updated on May 21, 2013
* Here's One I Prepared Earlier ... *
~ The Thrill Of You ~
Thriving masses,
Spectres, plodding through prescribed encumbrance;
Daily fare of troubled smiles
Loom, in the near distance...
Soaked, by the theatre of the heart;
Processed in the relief of evening.
Apathy faces the daunting unknown,
Through this makeshift, wannabe Hollywood.
Futures' umbrella, under the luminous,golden eye,
Parleys with the seized glories, and shames,of
Today's expectations,
Dissolving the taste of a thousand yesterdays,
That d'ost linger upon threatening shadows
Of tomorrow.
Written, in the sands of time,
By the quill of destiny,
Upon the tablet of man;
The picture of my alabaster-skinned maiden;
Foreground, of this passing throng.
Eros, and Storge,
She cannot forge;
My party for one;
My reason for reason.
      What a video to put with your poem... I was singing and snapping and then... you put my brain to work as you always do! :-) It's almost like decoding your poems and then when I get where I'm going... they hit all the more :-) Impressive, honestly... I think I need to brush up on some literature so that I may be on your level :-) Beautiful... love it!
      Yours Truly,
      Reminds me of a Roxy Music title and Bryan Ferry would have been thrilled to write something like this and that is quite a compliment because Roxy Music were one of the greatest bands ever to come out of the U.K.
      Again you carry on the fine tradition of poetry as art but also you make it your own which I admire so much.
      Sending you as always my best wishes and off now to turn on something loud to shake off the cobwebs of a good sleep.
      Colin & Super Cats
      Thanks for your introspective comments,and I agree with you about Roxy being one of the greats....and that Bryan Ferry;he's got a lot to answer for,don't you think?Just how many babies do you think is he responsible for bringing into the world?lol! Does being in the same room as one's wife while you're doing the honours count as cheating,I wonder?If so,then he's been getting away with it for years lol!!!
      All the best Colin,from a reluctant Spring morning,in drizzly England....try not to blow your Kajangers off with that rock 'n roll!(mine goes up to 11 lol!)
      Up again R.Q. again at 8:37am with my first cup of coffee, two well fed pussycats and the Gregorian chants. Funny you mentioned Mr. Ferry's love life (I hear his old bandmate Brian Eno was a randy little bugger too, lol) ....is that what you hear or read in your tabloids over there? Over here I have not read about that although from what I've heard , Sir Mick Jagger is quite a ladies' man and so is Robbie Williams and George Harrison too, back in the day, lol.
      I love Bryan Ferry's new album featuring the Bryan Ferry Orchestra and big jazz band arrangements of old Roxy classics, no kidding.
      And you're quite a ladies' man R.Q. ,lol, but you do it with style, class, panache and your impeccable writing style - sending good thoughts your way from C and T and G.
      Hey,Colin.If you find a woman,or another feline friend whose name begins with 'A',then you might just have unwound the secret to life's mystery lol!(CATG).
      Gregorian chant?Such eclectic tastes you have-I like the version of 'Gaudete' by 'Tenebrae';I reckon it's a little better than the Steeleye Span original.
      And yeah lol! I heard Eno was a bit of a rabbit,and that 'ol Ferry was turned down by the model Jerry Hall(you may remember),and sidled off with the Jagger;and George Harrison-didn't he end of with Patti Boyd? I think she was torn between Eric Clapton,and himself(also heard that 'Layla',by Clappy was written for her!).
      Best Wishes to you,and have a smashing day.
      Sincerely,
      R.Q.(re-sent this reply-less mistakes!)
