There are Times

Writing Poetry has filled a large portion of my life beginning with childhood. Writing is a creative venue and lifelong enjoyment for me.

The Joy of a Friend~

There are times we couldn’t make it,

Without sharing with a friend,

Things that may be little or strange,

Except to one who understands.

Some day’s it’s not the worries,

Of life or love or men,

It’s just the possibility,

There’s a heart hooked to a hand.

It’s like writing in a diary,

Those special thoughts each day,

When just past the pages,

Is the warm smile of a friend.

When we feel we’ve missed

The magic that makes life grand,

We think and pray and ponder,

Thank God he gave us friends.

There are times we go past caring,

Since life is not so long,

So we support each other

With momentary “grins”.

Others reach for happiness,

In most presumptuous ways,

While we try our best to have it,

And not throw our lives away.

God, may you grant us,

Peaceful hope upon our breast;

To share those times together,

With the most certain love, of a friend.

      I like this piece.

      Friendship is very important.

Too many people take it for granted while others never

      receive it.

      Good Job.
