Burning stars rest easily, upon a sable throne;
Bearing down, upon the frowns, of lovers, far from home.
They dance about, the night, which lights their lunar sight, sublime;
With vernal day’s reflections, lending gleams of waned noonshine.
Pin-pricks, pierce sombre curtain; spy-holes for gods on high;
Whom seek the lonely spinster, yea, who melts a mooning sigh.
Her heart refuels, via glittered jewels, to eagerly remember;
A kiss of cherished memory, embraced by phantoms of December.
Sky’s milky beams now punish dreams, that bleed a bloodless trickle;
Unto the great beyond, about a haunted heart, now fickle.
She opens up her journal page, where roses left their name;
With sepals pressed, she should have guessed, that leaves are what remain.
A bitter pill, that makes her ill, with chest so tight and heavy;
This raging ocean, locked away, ‘neath gates that paid their levy.
Sad funeral drizzle, ‘pon pallid cheeks, speaks love’s infirmity;
Eyes sealed by drops, so honest, that ache into eternity........
