When Things Don't Make Sense We Have To Perservere

Updated on November 17, 2011

It Is Alright To Have No Answer

When odd things happen and all we know isn't enough

We can pull our hair out of our heads strand by strand

Yell and scream until we feel better

Sit and wait and want things to change and be different

Even though things and the situation is the same

Put life on pause and continue to do what we know

To change the things we can and accept the things we can't

Our life has many fantastic things that we can concentrate on and enjoy

There are problems in life that can't be solved at this time

It is a good idea to keep trying even though no solution is in place

The bottom line is we can only do our best

Even though all around us there are reminders our best is not good enough

We have to learn life has a balance that we have no control over

The things we do make up only a fragment of the big picture

We are not responsible for everything going right or when it goes sour

Like the grapes that we bought and we thought they would be great

They just tasted bad and buying them was a big mistake

Buying a book we wanted so bad

Then within days put it down and months later forgot about it and let it collect dust

Now it is a dust bunny ready for Easter which is better than never being used at all

Age has a way of robbing us of our youth

So instead of being disappointed and upset what we can no longer accomplish

Find something else we want to try because in the past we have never had a chance to do

A new hobby can stimulate the brain and find more fun than the Sunday color funny pages

That we read with so much excitement and merriment

In the end it is what we have that counts not what we miss

As time goes on we are meant to forget

So we can get on with our lives and make it the best it can be

Learning to live life with a little touch of humility

Wonderful words of wisdom from you, Dream On. You know me well enough to realise l struggle with this one. l am trying each day to accept the things l cannot change, and oh how true that thinking of what we used to be able to do is just robbing us of something new and different that we can be doing now.

      You are a gem.

Dream On - Excellent piece. :)

Sorry you've been going through a struggle, but so glad you're taking the high road with it.

It shows in this, and lends a great deal of encouragement!

Why does this Hub remind me of the Serenity Prayer? (smile) I enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping over to see "What I Know." Here's to the power of finding balance between mind, body, and spirit. Peace and Light...Gary.

My pleasure... It is I who perfectly understands because I have experienced similar situations in which you feel like your mind could not fathom a reason why and the heart just sinks without our consent. Many that we thought close, just depart from our side when we need a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on the most, and we are left with a handful yes, but the best handful you could ever get. I say this because I have learned that in critical times, only the best could shine. And those are the ones we can call real friends. Therefore, the rest can be forgiven. I really hope you can find light to be shed into your situation and always remember that there is One who will always guide you regardless. Lean on Him, even when it seems you are leaning on thin air. Never lose your faith my friend.

JinnyMarte Recently I have faced a situation that I can not change and make better no matter how hard I try.It is out of my control and I reach down deep for answers.I am left with a handful of love and that just has to be good enough.I really appreciate your comment and your understanding.Thanx for reading and giving my writing purpose.

This was very refreshing to read. I like the way you keep it simple yet steady and take us on a ride to get us to the point where you open your heart.

I love your last two verses: "So we can get on with our lives and make it the best it can be

Learning to live life with a little touch of humility."

Nothing can be more honest than that.

      Awesome and voted up!
