Another Twist to Jodah’s “The Endless Story”

Updated on March 7, 2015

This is related to the " Story Without An End" by Jodah. It is in relation to the previous four endings by Shyron E Shenko, always exploring, Jodah and myself. Is it without an end? What is something without an end? Something with a new beginning?

Susan and Courtney with Rick back at Susan’s house -

Susan was a gorgeous brunette who had a lovely, natural look to her and Courtney was almost a spitting image of her mother. Sue, as relatives and close friends called her, hardly needed make-up since her face was so pretty. She only put on faint lipstick and eye shadow.

Susan had driven herself, Rick and Courtney back to her house. After driving past the green trees on her street, they turned in her white driveway and Susan slowly pulled the car into the clean two-car garage. They closed the garage door from the outside and went to the front door. As Susan unlocked the front door – and Courtney smelled the yellow flowers – Rick kept on gabbing. All of the flowers had different aromas but Courtney only smelled the yellow ones; although no one noticed. Susan was distracted because ever since she had picked him up Rick had yacked her ear off. When the door was unlocked Susan called to Courtney to clean her hands and come inside.

”Okay, Mommy, I’m coming. Ouch!”

“What happened baby?” Susan asked.

“I turned to run in and when I pulled my hand out of the flowers my thumb hurt.”

“Let me look. That seems to be a bee stinger I will have to pull it out. Now sit right there while I grab the baking soda in the orange box. I will put a Band-Aid on it. Mommies sweet kisses make it feel better.”

“Yes Mommy”, she gave Susan a great big kiss on the cheek. It was full of honest love.

After Courtney had wasted water watching and hearing it swirl down the drain when she washed her hands, they sat down to coffee with a sandwich. The coffee smelled delicious being foamy and dark; the warm sandwich looked good too with the roasted turkey, Swiss cheese and vegetables on wheat. Courtney had creamy white milk with hers. All that Susan could do was sit and brood as she watched Rick ignore Courtney as her daughter became bored. Susan was also bored with Rick because all that he did was keep going on and on about himself. Sue still wore the gold engagement ring which Rick had given her but she played with it, subconsciously wondering if she should remove it.

Soon Susan’s thoughts were on Philip how nice it was when Courtney called Philip “daddy” and ran to his arms and how Philip accepted her without a problem…

…Back to the present. Rick was without a doubt not for Susan since he only spoke about himself and ignored Courtney and even Susan.

Changing to another station – Linda and Philip at the park

Linda was short with jet black hair and Philip was slightly taller and stocky. She used a strong perfume and too much make-up.

While Linda and Philip were in the park, they had played Frisbee, flown a kite, laughed and had much fun. Now they were on the green plaid picnic blanket - which Linda’s mother had so painstakingly made - and Linda was proudly telling Philip about her previous marriage with the captain of the football team in college. The captain had been strong and well-built. Phil was lying there listening to her chat while he was actually dreaming about Susan and Courtney the whole time. As a matter of fact, Linda did not seem to be right for Philip due to the way that she hugged the stage and put herself in the center.

He seemed to just be starting a relationship with Susan and he missed how Courtney used to call him daddy and jump in his lap saying, "Bounce me up and down on your knee". Was the relationship over?

Was there another possibility?

Since Susan was sorry that she had chosen Rick, and she and her daughter preferred Philip…

After all Philip was a man who worked at a steady job instead of always changing them like Rick. Philip lived in a roomy home large enough for a family. Rick constantly had problems paying rent in apartments which were too small for families.

With several problems

Since Philip was not really listening to Linda, but only thinking about possibly getting together with Susan and Courtney…

That leaves Rick and Linda alone – but what if Philip/Susan introduced them?

Then the ending would be Philip, Susan and Courtney together. Rick and Linda together

Did this make it easier to decide?

Hi Besarien, to follow it you will need to go back to the very beginning that Kevin provides in the link at the top of this. Then follow each link to the next person's contribution. Perhaps then even add another ending yourself. Cheers.

I was unsure of your of your approval when I thought of this but I appreciate it, thank you.

I read (briefly) about Jackie last night. I am not sure if Shyron is writing more or she wants others to do it. Let me know what you think.

I was pleased to do it. I have not seen Aneegma's addition, I will have to check. I imagine that it is in yours like everyone else's.

Thank you very much Frank. The idea began in the back of my mind when I read John's Hub a couple of weeks ago. I did not know if anything would come from it.

Hi Kevn. Well done. Your suggestion would make everyone end up happy, and Rick and Linda seem like they would be a good match. They just have to be introduced and see what happens.

I look forward to meeting Shyron's new woman Jacke too.

Thank you for taking part in this. Did you read Aneegma's additon to the story?

Hi Shyron, I am not. I cannot vouch for John and Ruby, but John seems to accept every change and Ruby cheered for my twist so I think that she will like it too.

Hi Kevin, the new woman is Jackie and Jackie has a secret. And Rick has been keeping a secret. I hope you, John and Ruby are not disappointed.

It is intriguing, is it not? The idea hit me about a week ago when I read comments on John's story. I mulled it over and have been working on it since.

Thank you Shyron for your comments and votes. I did not want it to end either which is why I had it go in a different direction. When you have finished yours I will read it to see the "mysterious" woman.

Hi Kevin, I like this, and I am also writing another chapter, and adding a new woman. I do like your version but don't want the drama to end.

      Voted up and shared.
