10 Ways to find Inspiration – It’s all around us

Updated on June 28, 2014

☆҉‿ ~ When we are inspired our hearts glow. There is so much around us that can inspire us, but we may not always see or hear it. Every beautiful thing we see around us was made by someone who had the inspiration for it.

1) Inspiration from Kids

Kids do babble a lot but there are times when what a kid does or says can inspire us. You look at them and wonder if your grandma just spoke through them.

2) Inspiration from nature

The seaside, weather, sitting by quiet steams / lakes. Walking through parks with a lot of greenery, climbing mountains, visiting flower gardens. The list is endless. There is a quote that says “If you seek creative ideas go walking. Angels whisper to a man when he goes for a walk.” ~ Raymond Myers

3) Inspiration from Books

There are so many books out there, that can transform lives positively. The last book that inspired me was “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne. It focuses on the power of gratitude and inspired me to keep a daily Gratitude journal and to write a Hub about it. See link below.

http://ladye.hubpages.com/hub/Review-of-the-Book-The-Magic-by-Rhonda-Byrne

4) Inspiration from movies

Sometimes, I wish I could ask people like Tom Cruise, Stephen Spielberg what inspired them to do certain movies.....in my dreams, but hey, I might meet them someday when they come to London.

5) Inspiration from people

I’m sure we all have particular people who inspire us and not just celebs. It could just a normal person in your community who has a heart of gold or a big talent.

I saw a woman on the news who has fostered over 20 kids. The kids felt so much at home. Also, last month Nelson Mandela passed away. He inspired so many people, I actually wondered if President Putin was inspired by him because he gave an Amnesty to Russian Prisoners in December 2013 - the same month that he visited South Africa and said "Mandela is the great humanist of the 21st Century."

6) Inspiration from photography/paintings

Some people buy paintings because it inspires them. I write on a particular site – which needs people to only post 400 Characters. A lot of my posts there are based on photographs I like. I just find a title for it and write a short paragraph. The first 3 letters of the site are called Bub... I don't want to upset Hubpages. :-)

Do you remember Francis Bacon's painting which sold for $142 Million last year? It made big news. That was one h*ll of an Inspiration for the buyer. My new hobby in 2014 is painting!!

Eating Disorders

The Twitter Account is called: Care4Anorexics - https://twitter.com/Care4Anorexics

7) and 8) Inspiration from Songs and Inspiration from poems.

You could listen to a song or read a poem and find inspiration.

9) Inspiration from comments on posts.

Years ago, a teen left a comment on an article I wrote about Anorexia. From her touching comment, I was inspired to set up a twitter account Care4anorexics. I still run it and tweet information to help anorexics.

10. Suffering of others.

Sadly, soome people have seen the suffering of others and it has inspired them to set up Charities to help their cause. The talented singer, Amy Winehouse had a drinking problem which she overcame but there were some complications and she died after. Her dad set up a Charity in her name to help young people with similar problems. http://www.amywinehousefoundation.org/

I have only listed about 10% of where we can find inspiration. It’s all around us. The more peaceful we are inside, the easier it will be for us to notice.

☆¸.·*♡ Keep Inspired. You never know where it will lead you. ☆¸.·*♡

Lady E How nice to stop in for a read. it has been a time. You were one of the first I met at hubs. I do pray all is well with you and the love of Christ follows you with favor each day. You are a sweet heart dear one. You know this hub is lovely. Everything in Gods world is inspiration to write. He gave it to us. We are so blessed in Him. There are thousands of things to write about and I have a time getting one hub together. I move slowly. You on the other hand move quicker. God did make us all different Amen. Otherwise we would be like robots. God loves variety. Hugs Galore. Your sister in Christ Your hub sister. Skye

One thing that i totally agree with is that i notice that i do get deeply moved and inspired by nature . . . the sea, the sky and it's ever moving clouds, the unconditional love our pets give us, all the treasures our creator has given us to love and appreciate, and most of all, music, which i not only find entertaining and inspiring, but also uplifting.

Thank you for making me realise that there are so many things around us that serve as great sources of inspiration.

      Blessings.

@Viryabo Thanks so much too for taking time to read it. Nice that you enjoy music. It actually has healing properties too...I guess that's where the uplifting comes from. :-)

I love the picture with the butterfly. That is enough to inspire by itself. Seeing the anorexic though, horrifies me to think we can do that to ourselves. Great hub.
