Elvis made his return but soon met his demise again at the hands of the evil lord Honey Boo Boo. Can The Doctor restore the TARDIS in time for an extreme home make over? Find out in today's continuation of 30 Poems, 30 Days!

Day Sixteen: Not Just Anyone

she’s not just anyone
to steal the light right from the sun
or make the world melt right out of view
shows me things that I can’t see
life is happening right in front of me
forever to be her shoulder to cry

although it may not be the time
you need to know my life fell apart
when you said goodbye
I realized you lit this fire inside

back by my side again
need her more now than I ever did
she’s the one that brings me to my knees
I will take the time
remind the world that you are mine
your ring will be the one to light the room

although it may not be the time
you need to know my life fell apart
when you said goodbye
I realized you lit this fire inside

Day Seventeen: Happiness is Revenge

and so we’ve all felt this way
the ones we love they drift away
there’s no turning back
we could never speak to soon
of our dreams to fly to the moon
there’s no looking on
and on the inside you feel empty
truth is that is not how it should be
there’s no feeling wrong

happiness is revenge
get up everyday and do it again

and what can they do to you
if you wake up feeling anew
there’s nowhere to run
all your emotions you wear on your sleeve
take the time to live, take the time to breathe
there’s no sense in giving up

happiness is revenge
get up everyday and do it again

Day Eighteen: The Soul Never Lets Go

when they saw you coming in
and assumed you were here to begin
to catch the rain from falling from the sky
and they caught your heart’s desire
as they sung out from the choir
you sold the sun to pay all of your debts

left you here the same as when you were born
come to steal your soul right out of your bones

so please explain the scenario to me
were they not the people they seemed
were they just here to explain their ulterior motives
left your body out to drain
and rot and melt in the rain
they stole the moon from the kings and queens of all

left you here the same as when you were born
come to steal your soul right out of your bones
so you came back for more
and knew they would not adore
the knife you used to settle your revenge
it’s all over now
soon the rain will stop pouring down
and your soul
will never
let you go

Day Nineteen: Sleeping Wolves

drag me away in my sleep
keep all my belongings out of reach
never gonna give you what you need
always gonna tell you how I feel

I’ll always keep you away from sleeping wolves
who’ll take you in the night from your room
and as you hide under your blankets and pray
I’ll protect you from these creatures everyday

the wolves are awaken
who’s heart have they taken
the wolves are awaken now

so hungry for meat and flesh and bone
these fists will keep them from this home
so damn sick and tired of what’s going on
a long battle until we’re left alone

Day Twenty: Step Lightly

oh, you who are precarious
be careful where you walk, step lightly
so fragile, so likely to take flight
when the wind picks you up gently at night
one can only touch you softly, so smooth
my attention taken away when you step in the room

oh, you who are so virtuous
be mindful of those who seek to corrupt, tear you apart
so true to thine self, so high in my heart
fill up these tear ducts, break my soul with a dart
from love’s arrow so sharp, such a tender thing
my loyalty forever yours, not ashamed to sing

10 Days Remain

Links to the other days will appear in this space shortly. Be seeing you.
