A Beautiful Praise to Thee
What Does God Mean to You?
What Your eyes have seen
Could not my heart contain?
The real beauty of thy Holiness
The only One worthy of thy name
Howbeit, thy love
In ageless wonder flows
In rivers of thy mercy,
Thy grace unselfishly arose.
Suspended from a wooden cross
Your flesh adorned with all sin;
There You created
The definition of a “friend.”
To bridge the gap
Between you and I;
You allowed your only son,
To suffer and die
And when “it was finished”
The possibilities began to unfold
Upon a lost and dying world,
Unconditional love was bestowed.
With crimson blood
My sins were erased and I made pure
You gave your life so freely
To make my home in heaven secure
I can never repay
The suffering or sacrifice
But in honor of you,
I’ll sing praise the rest of my life
The glory will run over
The sky will split and heaven’s unfold
And we will finally witness
What our spirit has longed to behold.
And when I reach your throne
I’ll be a part of all the beautiful praise
It will be the end
Yes, the end… of our faith.
The elders, the angels, and I will bow
Passing our crowns to His Majesty
And reign with Him forever
Oh, won’t it be exciting?
