A Black Knight's Kiss ~ a Poem

A Black Knight`s Kiss

Blue Iris Flag

Yellow Iris Flag

Fresh blades of green

In the backyard garden

There were more

Of the blooms this noon

Than a year ago

I have seen.

Arctic Fire

Arctic Fire ladies dainty in white

Pretend having a tea chat

Outside the yard

One two three seven eight nine

And more of them

I somewhat hear their chatters

Along the line.

Purple Salvia

A few standing Purple Salvias

Were added by my Sweet

They should grow a little

Taller soon, and so I think

Each time raindrops come

Falling on their heads,

Surely, I will miss a blink.

My dog, Simba

Not for long, I asked my dog

To come inside with me

And so he followed obediently;

I sat on the carpeted floor

To check the pictures I took

But something was moving

Inside my shirt around the nook.

Well hey, Black Knight!

How quick you escape by a leap

You tickle me tenderly

Your kisses are annoyingly fine;

Then, Black Knight escaped the second round

I hugged the floor once more

Prayed he won’t be far from sight

But, I got him back in time.

Oh, Black Knight, honey

Thank you for the "kiss";

Neither I want you to be near my dog

For fear you will dig into his ear

So forgive me,

To the kitchen I’m taking you

Someone is hungry there for days, you know

He’s got an appetite

The size of steaks, you see

I know I’d make him smile or two

To Bruce Willis’ greed you go.

Great photos to go with the poem! That would be a scary spider to find anywhere on your body. I hope Bruce did not get indigestion! Up!

Hi xstatic! That spider must have sneaked into my... (from the backyard) as I was hugging the ground taking pictures, lol. Have a great day!

p.s. BW must be "loving it"!

Thank you Cris! Yup, Simba was beside me (but snoring), lol.

I'm glad it was just a spider. I'd be terrorized if it was a chick inside my shirt! (You know about my terrifying dreams, lol.)

I was visualizing jousting knights in a field of honor fighting for a maiden's favor. Your black knight apparently was the sneaky kind and didn't wait for the lady's permission. ;) I was looking over one of my older hubs trying to improve it while reading my e-mail notification of hubpages authors I follow. Your article's title caught my attention...Coincidentally, the older hub I was working on was about Spiders.

Great work and artistic photos! This was intense to read, the spider as a black knight is a wonderful add to the poetry. Glad it didn't get your dog.

Love the poem, the story it tells and the pics. Sad end for the spider but lucky for Bruce Willis. Simba is adorable and the flowers beautiful. Enjoyed.

Oh SilentReed, I was so happy to see you left me a hilarious comment here. I wish you could hear me laugh out loud. I never thought my hub title would fool my readers. :) My black Knight, sneaky, eh! Sincerely love your visit.

Dear Gypsy Rose, Bruce Willis did get lucky though I didn't really want to harm the spider. Life cycle? Thank you for admiring the pics too. Summer is here and there will be more knights out there, lol! Cheers!

Oh, how clever! I didn't see that ending coming. I would've stomped the thing dead just for daring to crawl on me! No chance to be plant food. hehe.

And the pictures of the flowers were great. I don't think I've ever seen an artic fire flower before.
