A Break from the Daily Grind

Updated on August 6, 2011

Waking up for the daily drive

down the same road

I often take

to go where I've always been.

People call

meetings held

and tasks completed.

The things left undone

stacked high in the corner

little less every day,

replaced by more.

Going down those roads again

stopping here or there

taking care of this or that.

Every moment filled

with obligations and commitments.

Days go by

much the same,

blending into one.

Life exists

until I see you again.

My time with you

a precious moment

stopped in time

where all that matters

is in one place

and deadlines have no meaning.

Ah, love. It makes everything else unimportant and a waste of time. Beautifully done! Voted up and beautiful.

Beautiful poem. Love must be in the air somewhere. Every other hub i read is about love. Not a bad thing though. Many bring back memories of days long past. Like replaying those old videos in my head. Thanks for sharing.
