A Bucket List

Living your Bucket List
Living your Bucket List

Now let us be honest with each other here. Have you made a "bucket list"? Even if you don't have a written list of things to do before you die, there is a list in your mind. And everyday you think "Man I want to do this/that before I'm gone." In fact, I know you have! Because we are human. We see other humans doing extraordinary things all the time. Weather it be a first hand account or on the television, we see it and think "Oh I wish I could do that sometime!" Well then again, maybe it is just me. But what is holding you back from accomplishing it? Sure we all use things like work, school, family etc as a reason to not do these things that seem amazing to us! But then before you know it, life is gone, you are retired, your kids are grown and now you are just to old to do it! Well sorry folks, but I'm not going to let that happen to me!

I've complied a list of fun and awesome activities that I think everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. And it is a list of things that can be done over a period of time that really doesn't interfere with your "life". Let me know what you think of the list!

*Reminder* this really isn't a "bucket list" this is more of a list of fun things to do with family, friends, kids etc. It is meant to be humorous and fun. So think of it as more of a Fun Bucket List.

Let's get started having some fun!

Wear a different color everyday of the week - Now I bet you don't realize it, but you probably wear about the same thing everyday. Weather it be a suit or just a plain old t-shirt, they are probably all the same color and you didn't even realize it! So get creative and wear something different everyday for a week.

Wear a fake mustache in public - It's just a way to get noticed and have some giggles! Why spend your life being so serious all the time? Get some friends in on this as well and walk around a mall and see how many stares and weird side looks you can get!

Go the wrong way on an escalator - Just something fun and quirky to do!

Do a DIY project - (do it yourself) get creative and build something! Who cares if you can't build anything! And who cares if it looks like a blob when you are done! Get some friends together and just start building! Who knows what you will come up with! And if there are any dads out there, this is a good idea for you and the kids as well! Gives you some independent times, and makes amazing memories! Be sure to take pictures!

Fix something for someone for free - If you know someone who has something that is broke, and you know how to fix it, then fix it for them. It's good to give back to others. Makes us feel good about ourselves knowing we did something for someone else and didn't ask for a thing in return!

Go on a picnic - This could be a great idea for those of you with kids. Pack up some food and head outdoors for a while! Get out of the house and visit nature and stuff your faces! Take pictures and have a blast! Or even those of you who are out of touch with friends because life has you running around like a chicken with your head cut off, gather up the friends and head out on a hike and end it with some grub that you all brought along!

Hug a Stranger - heck why not? Never know, that hug could dramatically change that strangers life for the better!

Spend the day at the beach - If life is really that hectic and you never get any free time then call in sick and get away! Every one deserves some good old rest and relaxation!

Make a bonfire - Especially in October or November when it is just starting to get a chill in the air! Gather the friends or family and roast some weenies or make some smores and have some fun around the fire!

Eat Sushi - If you are like me, then you haven't ever tried it! But take this time in your life to go outside the comfort zone of food and try it! I'm going to do it and soon I hope!

Convince someone that you are foreign - Now this won't work in your hometown where everyone knows your name. But if you are in another town and feel like having some fun then do it!

Cook someone a full meal - This is something I've been wanting to do for the hubby for a while now. Yes I'm a bad wife, I don't cook. It's not that I don't know how, I just don't like to. But the hubby is a cook at our work and he cooks at home. So I want to give him the night off and make him an enjoyable and tasty meal! (p.s. if you have any recipes please email them to me!)

Find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop - I actually watched someone on YouTube do this once! It was fun to watch. So I think I might give it a go sometime.

Have a shopping cart race - hey it's fun and you only live once right!? even better idea is to do it with the kids if you have them! If not then grab a friend and have some fun!

Finger Paint - Now can you believe that I'm 27 and I've NEVER finger painted before? Well I'm going to have to change that one! And again you can do this with the kids or with a friend or all by yourself. Either way, have some fun and get creative!

Contribute useful information to Wikipedia - Though Wikipedia probably has all information known to man, try and find something it doesn't have and contribute it!

No television for a week - This task really isn't all that hard for me to accomplish since I barely watch television anymore. But for those of you who like to spend your days off in front to the television don't do it! Find something else to do for a week. Read a book, go for walks, etc....but no television!

Donate to charity- Go through your closets, your pantries, and your kids toys and give it all to charities!

Do charity work - This helps give back to your community and makes you feel good about yourself in the long run. And besides, it also gives you a chance to meet new people and learn things about other people's lives!

Write and record a 3 minute song - who cares if you don't have a creative bone in your body! Just do it! No one said it has to be the most amazing billboard topper!

Go put put golfing and try for 3 holes in one - enough said! Get some friends or the family together and for the first one to get 3 holes in one treat them to ice cream or something.

Sing Karaoke in public - and no I don't mean in your home with a group of friends! Go to a karaoke bar and belt it out! and who cares if "they" are watching! have some fun!

Invent a board game - never know what you will come up with!

What is your fun Bucket List?

Now that I've written mine, I want you to leave a comment of one fun thing you want to do before you get to old to do it or the time just passes you by! It doesn't matter what it is I want to see it in the comments below! Thanks for taking the time to read my list and hopefully I've inspired you to get out there and maybe try a few of them!

Great illustration. Before I fill my bucket list, I need to use the empty bucket to bail out my boat of things I should already have done that I am solely responsible for. Then I can truly enjoy trying any and all of the bucket list you have suggested, including the movie.

I getting on a bit, if you call 40 getting on, but suddenly 60 or 70 is not that far away and after having kids young, I'm beginning to wonder what haven't I done before I get too old to do it? My inspiration... the film the "Bucket List". Watch, think and enjoy.

Before I give you my one thing, I just want to share a funny with you regarding your number two, wearing a mustache or something funny in public. I was out one night with two dear friends. A man across the bar was staring at the three of us and it was annoying us all. I said to one of my buddies that was getting quite mad, "don't worry, I can stop him in his tracks." As he rudely stared and drooled, I proceeded to do my ugly face where I dry my upper lip and fold it under. It is the ugliest face you've ever seen. I did the face and he looked stunned and confused. I didn't even crack a smile. We had no more problems with him the rest of the night. Ok, fun bucket list thing: I would want to go skydiving???
