The Canine Departure

Updated on February 19, 2015

The Canine Departure

The name you knew

wasn't what we drew

However, if ever to be beckoned

in an instant after it's call

obstacles there would be none

you'd trample through them all

Barreling down the stairs

jangling chain links echoed the air

your presence known

to be of no despair

The dog days of your discomfort

replaced by a continuous pleasant reminiscent haze

You lived a good life

with all abandon to trite

A picture of you

I placed for my thoughts

will never be of waste

On my headboard above

displaying endearment of love.
