A Chewy Snack

A Chewy Snack

It pays to keep your feet clean
if you are someone like me...
who inadvertently crams her foot
into her mouth, you see...

I try to think before I speak
to avoid this chewy bite...
but sometimes will forget myself,
speak first, then brain ignite

to find myself but choking
on a foot I can't retract...
and wishing I had washed them first
or thought first to redact.

So it pays to practice hygiene
and keep those tootsies clean...
or engage the brain before the mouth
to avoid this snack routine!

Fluffy, this piece was a big haha on me because I do this so well, in spite of my efforts and there is great comfort in knowing I am not the only one!!! Hugs!

tnderhrt23, I understand this too all too often. Thanks for sharing, something sort of peaceful about knowing you are not the only one.

Paul, Epi's journeys are always ones of surprise! That is perhaps what makes them so appealing and so much fun!

Tndr- Oh me too!! He amazes me with his use of words and image to make you think you are on one journey, only to find your destination to be something you never expected or would have thought. -Paul

Paul, this was a little Haha on me, for I do indeed tent to put my foot into my mouth because I engage the mouth before the brain! Epigramman has had a powerful influence upon my writing, I do, indeed, admit! I just love his style and imaginative scope!

Tndr- Hmm dide we take a class on "poetic twists" from Senior Epi, perhaps? Great write, cute, and yet very true in it's wisdom. -Paul
