A Child Buries Judgment

Updated on October 3, 2012

Conviction animates beliefs
Empathy transforms opinion
Right and wrong have contrast
When words offer no confusion
Jealousy breeds hatred
Freedom becomes slavery
But a parent’s confidence
Gives birth to a child’s bravery
The directness of example
Like the moon’s glow
Will light their young minds
And they will forever know
Lining the path of righteousness
Are the stones they once carried
And as they wash their hands
The dirt settles where judgment is buried
