A Childs Thank you (A note from a child with Autism)

Updated on December 10, 2012

Thank-you for seeing me,

For seeing that I am in here;

I am curious about everything;

Thank-you for knowing that.

Thank-you for understanding,

That I see everything,

That I notice the beauty that most people miss.

I will show you one petal that is beautiful;

See how the veins make a pattern;

Notice the variations in color.

You show me that the petal is part of a flower;

That flower is part of a garden.

I will show you the flow of the lines on a page,

Up and down, around and over.

You show me that the lines make letters;

The letters have sounds;

The sounds make words that I can use to connect with

Thank-you for reaching me,

Because you do,

Even if it doesn’t always show.

      Very touching! I have a friend who has a child with autism.

      My first name is Sybil! So was my mom's, my grandmother's, my great-grandmother's, and so on, back eight generations. My oldest daughter's first name is Sybil, too!
