A Cold and Unforgiving World - Barnsey's Attempts at Poetry

Updated on April 6, 2012

My Anger Keeps Me Warm

There's an iron candle inside my chest

Not always aflicker with flame

There's a smoking gun you call my fist

On its palm is written a name

My anger keeps me warm

The violent boom of thunder

Quiets my storm

As I shiver under the shadow of you

My anger keeps me warm

My hatred keeps me warm

The boom of thunder quiets my storm

As I search this world for you...

I agree with duffmom ... powerful

      Unrequited

      You made me feel it.

Thanx alot! It was the only part of an old song I wrote that i can remember, maybe because the rest wasn't quite so poignant.

Very powerful - a lot said in little space - well done!
