A Crystal Ball

A Crystal Ball

I wish I had a crystal ball
with which I could divine
the shape and the direction
of my destiny's design.

Perhaps it would be clearer,
the path I am to take,
if I had a crystal ball
that was not opaque...

So I could go directly,
free of twists and turns,
to find the destination
that my heart so yearns.

I wish I had a crystal ball
that would show the way,
so I would not have to wander
or, even, to sashay!

I too wish I had such a crystel ball - not to mention your skill with words - lovely rhythmic poem, another delight from you.

i've been writing poetry for 20 years. I used to always rhyme but I got bored. now i do mostly free form. Rhyming is hard for me now but I'll do it once in awhile

PDX, again, thank you! I seem to think in rhyme, so it is natural to write in rhyme. Free form poetry is beyond me...lol

I'm generally a free form poet, so it's nice to read your poetry, which is very metrical and structured. It helps keep me ground! Good work

but then you would never learn, there would be no room for mistakes, and what if the future you saw wasnt something you want to see, Id rather go through life not knowing and take the risks and the chances and truly live. and make the effort to find out. true the unknown is a scary place, but thats what life is all about. and who knows if you can really trust all that anyway, fate changes with every decision and step we take.

If I had a crystal ball

I would use it every day

Play the markets before they fall

And step out of that truck's way

      Fun stuff, no clue. Peace.

No_Clue, how often I've been asked a daft question and done the "hang on while I consult the crystal ball" thing! Funny, liked it :-)

Yeah, but No_, a sashay is so much fun. You and I we dance a dance that magically, you see, that never ever will you know where we'll ever be...

So close your eyes my friend, no crystal ball you'll ever need, for as sure as you and I we stand as friends, your guaranteed to be freed ...
