A Cyber GPS

Updated on March 3, 2011

A Cyber GPS

My son bought me a GPS
and gave this gift to me...
because he knows that I'm impaired
the most, directionally.

He wrapped it in a big red bow...
"Your days now lost are done.
Now, I don't have to worry and
perhaps can have some fun!"

He is such a splendid guy,
and now I get around...
and I can navigate this place,
get to and from unbound.

Then, one day I had a thought...
that struck me as sublime...
I wondered if I could use this thing
to navigate online!

Cause just as I had wandered lost
on streets I could not find...
I stumble about cyberspace
as if I were quite blind....

It is a great idea, now...
but I am at a loss
I need a GPS that will
from land to cyber cross!

SW, your comments make so much sense that it is startling! You are so correct! This one was an attempt at humor...I have a weird one for sure...but...the truth is, I am learning every day to navigate my way around this computer world, just as I am learning to navigate the real world, without blinders, no less...what a hoot! anyways, thank you, my dearest friend, for your read and analysis...I love you for it!

Why not look within for direction? What is the worst that can happen? It is not as if you are walking or driving an ox and cart. We are talking about saving minutes rather than days. Devices rob us of our right to make mistakes. We learn from our mistakes as well as our triumphs.Devices relied upon stop us from learning the natural way and devour our self confidence. It is nice to receive a gift but I was always taught it was the thought that counts. What thought is a GPS? You decide.

Another cracker of a poem with the power to send me ranting as always!

This is a great idea, and leave it to you No_ to make a great poem out of it as well.

And evidently, your son, like mine, is a true gift indeed...
