A Day In the Life of a Starcrossed Soul

What can I relinquish to you

On this heaven sent, spectacular day?

The sky is filled with a kaleidoscope

Of luminous colors enveloping the bay.

The silence is yet to burst forth

Into the sounds of morning’s afterglow;

Each life on our earth will awaken

And partake of the fresh water’s flow.

Leaves fall from life’s ever hopeful tree

And ride on the strong current

They embark on a new journey

Exactly the way that nature meant.

There is a gentle rain to help guide

The sustenance of spring’s youthful life.

The water is nature’s melody

Purely a song devoid of earthly strife.

Grasp hard and fast and show mere mortals

The way of the simple woodland.

Protect those who know not what is beyond

The trials and tribulations averting God’s caressing hand.

May we all awaken the following morn

To be thankful for what we have shared

With the innocent creatures all around us,

And no crosses have been beared.

A simple life is all that is needed

To make every beast a burdenless child.

Happiness is the fruitful simplicity

Of the silent, innocent and wild.

You really think so, unknown spy? I don't consider myself much of a poet.

Thanks, Joyce! I need to get more mammal pictures, but they just haven't been out there. I'm still trying to see a live armadillo.

Hey, Perry! I don't write much poetry, as you know, so I just had to do it.

I enjoyed your wonderful poem all about nature which is all so truly amazing. The little raccoon looks adorable except for those big claws that could cause a big OUCH!

Voted up and beautifully interesting, Joyce.

I simply love your poem! All nature created by one Almighty is all precious that Man MUST learn to admire, accept, cherish, nurture and respect...then, man and animals will live in harmony sharing earth's bounty. Thanks for a beautifully composed poem!

Thanks, Moonlake. Once in a great while, I take the plunge and do a piece of poetry when the mood strikes. Glad that you thought that the photos suited it, too.
