A Depressing Rainy Day That Turned Out O.k.

Updated on July 17, 2014

Secretly I Love The Rain

It was the summer of 2014

Another day of rain

Kids love to swim in the warm sunshine

So they are mostly disappointed

I didn't mind because I wasn't a kid

I usually dragged myself to work

Dreaming how nice it was when I was young

Having fun

Swimming all summer long at the beach

Carefree

No bills ever entered my mind

Sure we had to go to school

I had my share of homework and teachers I didn't like

I wasn't alone

My friends were all in the same boat

So I hung in their and thought

Better days are coming

If I can just get through this

What a sweet life when I can just go to work and get paid real money

Go to my job at a certain time and leave the same time every day

No homework ever

I wouldn't complain about work like some parents I knew

Other parents never talked about their work

It was a secret thing

Unless you asked

Then they would tell you something about how hard it was

Ending with you just don't understand and one day you will

Well that day has come in gone for the past thirty years of my life

I have been one of the very fortunate ones that have found work

Never unemployed or even laid off

I for the most part enjoy what I do

I do my job the best of my ability

There are bad days but they are far and few

So I may not be outside enjoying the sunshine

Then again neither are you

Off to work I go

Not missing out on the summertime fun

Earning a good living and saving a little left over for a rainy day

The weather can sometimes turn you down. When things turn out well in the end it makes sense and and you too can be happy.

Oh, yes! Thanks for the memories of carefree summer days. As I slave away on my PC I don't worry about the fact that the sun is outside my window. Since I don't have an office job what I try to do to enjoy some of the summer is to take at least on day of the week away from the PC and head on out into the great outdoors. As far as rainy days go I enjoy them for daydreaming and listening to my favorite music. Hope you're having a great day.
