A Fair Ornament

Updated on March 3, 2011

I see a lone star in the sky of night
that braves the dawn of morning light.
solitary and rich its hue
sings fading song in morning dew.
as shades of evening pass away
this lone star lingers to challenge day.
your courage inspires the seeker's eye,
Oh fairest ornament of the wispy sky!

Pixel-Alchemist is right. There is a lullaby quality to these words and speaks to the lone light of night breaking into the new day! Such refreshing words. They charm me and give me a good feeling inside. Thank you! da

what a lovely poem, I could see this read to children as a bed time rhyme as they drift off into peaceful slumber
