A Friday Night Date

Updated on November 15, 2012

Sometimes his mind would drift,

He felt like quitting,

Three murders on a single shift,

The suspect was an eighteen year old

Male prostitute,

Who targeted men who are old,

Rob and kill them,

And leave them in the cold,

Their deaths was his joy,

A drug addict, white boy,

No respect for life,

Stabs them deep,

With an old kitchen knife,

Sometimes watches the blood seep,

After witnessing the dead bodies,

Any crime detective could lose sleep,

The interrogation went well,

The boy admitted being at the hotel,

Claimed the old man attacked him,

And he killed in self defense,

The detective completed the statement

And he left the room,

Lies neatly swept with a broom,

The kid stood up,

And used the two-way mirror,

Mind so simple,

As he would pop a pimple,

Checking his watch

As if he were running late,

Maybe contemplating a Friday night date.

Oh Frank you were and still are one of my favorite writers of 2012 and Epi-man has been perfectly well behaved lately but after reading this film noir gore fest - lol - I am ready for some poetic blood lust of my own and I promise -lol - not to disappoint - you are such an excellent writer and you can say so much with so few words. This one is actually one of my favorites from you and that's saying a lot - sending you warm wishes for your health, happiness and prosperity in the new year from lake erie time canada 6:24pm

Frank. You have a way with words that captures the imagination. What a great descriptive piece. I watch a lot of crime TV and it always amazes me, the casualness of the criminals who are like this. They nap in the interrogation room faced with unknown charges in the homicide department. Who could sleep? This guy.

Chilling Frank..another picture of a cold blooded killer with no heart. You are the master of this type of writing, mystery unsolved as the killer continues to make his way to other victims. Great job!

I've met a few of these freaks in my time. Without hesitation or regard for human life, coacharoaches in disguise, slithering around the back alleys of discontent, nothing to gain in life, treating a life like a flipped out cigarette. Standing over their victims while adjusting their ties and rubbing their hands and wiping their oxford shoes from the blood stains appearing on them. Yes it happens in every walk of life my friend. Well written, the message was there. Voted up and shared.

Voted up. Creep city. Made me think of the actual serial killer on the loose now in Brooklyn, N.Y. who has already shot three shopkeepers. Another great chiller. Keep them coming. Passing this on.

      Frank,

You show time and time again how a few well-penned words can relay a whole bunch of substance.

The subjects that you write about are difficult. Your style has great impact and leaves no doubt in the reader's mind.

Voted UP and UAI. Hugs, Maria

Amazing what people are capable of when they have justified their reasons in their own mind.

You are keeping me company tonight Frank. I suspect I will be talking to you on your other hubs.

As others have already stated...it is scary knowing that people like this exist and have so little respect for life. You paint vivid pictures with your words!

You really explain the problem here so well and get into the mind of the criminal. It's certainly scary to know that there are real people like this out there, not so far away. Thank God we have dedicated police and detectives.

It's a weird feeling knowing there are people out there somewhere, that can kill another without any remorse. You have a great crime niche here Frank...and you don't disappoint. :-))

Sometimes the scariest thing about psychos is how normal and insignificant they are. Not that I know any, I must add; but when you see them after they've been caught. Frank, You still give me the shivers...:) when I read you poems.

This poem really is frightening freaky Frank.. Lies neatly swept with a broom. Good imagery! A heartless criminal.. You've described this scene very well. I wouldn't want to cross paths with this serial killer that's for sure.

A coldblooded killer, no compassion or remorse, next he'll comb his hair, take a sidelong glance at himself in the mirror, then a thumbs up for looking so good.

      Great sketch here Frank!
