What Kind Of Fool Am I?

Updated on June 2, 2016

What kind of fool am I?

To think you would have the same feelings

as I do for you,

when I know your heart is with someone else.

What kind of fool am I?

To think you would hold me in your arms

and surround me with all of your love

and once again make me happy.

What kind of fool am I?

To think I could break up two relationships

for something that is as complicated

as defining love from lust -

and going beyond the barriers of our friendship.

What kind of fool am I?

To have fallen head over heels with someone I hardly know,

and to hopefully expect

that you would do the same for me in return.

What kind of fool am I?

To once again allow myself

to experience the knot in my stomach

and the pain in my heart.

The feeling of confusion

and the tears in my eyes.

The thoughts of feeling that this was the right time,

and the thought of feeling you wanted me

just as much as I wanted you.

What kind of fool am I?

a broken heart - a rose withers
a broken heart - a rose withers

Love makes us do unbelievably crazy things. Its like being gripped my something very strong with very little or no resistance except a few questioning and introspecting moments like these. Well written.

You ain't no fool, just in love.

Love this poem! It speaks so true to humanity and the way we love. Always going after the ones we can't have.

      Good job!
