A Haiku & A Limerick

Updated on August 14, 2014

Demas finds limericks a challenge and has crafted a few that even have chuckles. Of the bunch you can choose from he offers this latest one

A Haiku - Family At Home Evening

Without them I'd die.

Family is my anchor.

Sure can spare one night.

Cold house but warm hearts.

Family Limericks (different but similar):

There once was a family of seven,

All of whom planned on going to Heaven.

When faced with fair weather,

They couldn't sit together.

They'd rise and spread 'til eleven.

I'd like you to see

My parents, sibling, those three.

For parties and fun

Those three act as one.

With total disregard for me.

You can easily look up other limericks by Perspycacious. Just do a search for Perspycacious Limericks .

What is your idea of "Family"?

It was hard to slow them all down long enough for this photo!

jhamann - 5 children and 17 grandchildren with one more hoped for soon. Count heads in the photo and you will see that times could be even more fun, when we get all the crowd together at one time.

annart - Glad you found some gladness in this one, and in family gatherings in general.

rebeccamealey - Put that keyboard to work and let's add another limerick.

James-wolve - I'll keep up the writing, if you and others will keep up the reading!

btrbell - Your thanks was reading this one. You're welcome.

always exploring - Did you write that haiku, or limerick yet? I'm waiting, along with the rest of your public.

Great to have such a large family. It depends what 'family' means to you, I suppose, as many regard friends and 'adopted' members as family too, which is great.

My family is quite small but close-knit and we love being together. It's growing though with 4 grandchildren to date. I'm sure there'll be more!

This is a lovely lighthearted look at family life.

Great limerick and Haiku, a bonus of both! What a large family, I can imagine it gets hectic. Jamie
