A Haiku - Disabilities

Updated on April 3, 2014

Disabilities

Mother dear, I'm here.

I so need your perfect love.

See me through this life.

In dark, and silence,

And halting steps, I'll so grow,

As your love allows.

I, as others, too,

Will reach my potential max,

Though hard the climbing.

It may not be high,

As high as others today.

It will be our high.

Courage, love, and compassion without compare....

As the clocks tick, tick, tick, tick,

the long, self-sacrificing love and

compassion, show a parent's true

courage and dedication to the life

of a child, especially when the child's

needs come with one or more special

challenges.

The challenges are without respite or

release from the ticking tick, tick as

every day's special, extraordinary,

dedicated love, surpasses them all.

The challenges of raising any child to their maximum potential are huge. The challenges of raising even one child with special needs, to their maximum potential are huge....and more.

Hello, wonderful Haiku. I wish you would join the fun, April Poetry Month challenge by Frank Atanacio. You are such a good writter.

      (((((hugs))))))

Gypsy Rose Lee - Days are meant to be challenging, every one of them with the sole exception of each Sabbath. I think that is the day the angels get to take a day off, except for the "essential angels."

Shyron E Shenko - Read mine on taxes and you will know why I haven't joined the Atanacio Challenge and probably won't until after the 15th (if then!) Thanks for the boost to a withering ego....I guess I'll settle for being " 'umble" and that's not a bad trait to cultivate these days when the government is mismanaging the taxes we send them.

rebeccamealey - When we strove to be able to communicate through our writing, we took on a noble task. Modern communication has meant that we no longer need a third party's nod to be able to have our writings speak to a wider audience. At its fulfillment, HubPages can allow us to do so worldwide. Now we take on the larger objective of helping to make that potential realized. There exists a healthy altruism among our flock of Hubbers. It seems inevitable that something very good, and growing must come from such a group as this one.
