A Haiku - Doing Good

Updated on June 15, 2012

Contributing to the better life....

Looking around for chances to do good.
Looking around for chances to do good. | Source

John Wesley once said

Doing good is one’s duty,

As long as one can.

The "Good Book" says so.

We know we are on safe ground.

Loving neighbors too.

Others feel the same.

What good can we do today?

Hard for us to find?

I think it won’t be.

I just saw a chance for me.

Bet you see one, too!

raciniwa: Mabuhai (ph.) Wishing you well on America's Independence Day, and wishing that all Filipinos had chosen to become Americans when the choice was placed before them years ago. We love each of you and wish you only the best in the years to come.

handymanbill: That makes you one of my most faithful followers, and I like all Hubbers, really appreciate that. Now I just have to insure that all my Hubs are worthy of such a follwer. (Talk about pressure!)

Gypsy Rose Lee: Remembering doing a good deed is among our most pleasing memories, and we should have a slew of them. You are welcome. Have a Happy Fathers Day.

Some of my greatest moments have been when I have done something good for someone and they say thank you. Thank your for this thought provoking Haiku.

Seldom do I see, hear or read something currently written that I can not change slightly to improve. Your haiku on good works may be the best of thoughts I have seen written on this subject. So difficult to briefly illuminate, and yet so central to the thought of mankind. "Over the fence!"

Oh, incidentally, I also love the haiku.

I wanted to put on the link to the Points of Light Foundation, but this being too short (even after adding the second Haiku to add to the length). You will want to look it up yourself, as it offers great opportunities for doing some good, if anyone is short on ideas. ; o)

      Imagine seeing

The world as it really is

      And no way to tell
