A Haiku - Humility

Updated on February 21, 2015

Are there going to be arrogant people in Heaven?

"Pride goeth before the fall." What comes afterward is up to me.

The secret to humility just may be failure.

Broken heart needed.

Contrite spirit needed, too.

Pride too high won't do.

I've tried lots of things.

Prayed to know His choice for me.

"Plant seeds that will grow."

Made "fishers of men",

Not fishes, not crops, but souls.

His will I will do.

A senior partner,

An easy yoke, shared burdens.

A younger brother.

A broken heart found,

Still beats strong, now happy too.

One soul leading on.

May my strength endure.

May my love be more perfect.

May I serve well, Lord.

Beautiful. Failure sure can give us a wake up call especially when we are arrogant.

      Voted up and awesome.

Voted up and awesome. I believe as long as we keep believing and trusting and staying on the straight and narrow the Lord will know we're good people. God bless.

Sueswan: We all get "wake up calls" to keep us on track and on our toes. Good comment.

Gypsy Rose Lee: Ahh, but the Lord also knows our potential and that is what he died for (that the things which hold us back from that potential might be forgiven) so we might be encouraged to keep on trying for the best we have to give.

raciniwa: To finish well, one need not start well (though that would certainly help.) It isn't where we came from; it's where we are headed.
