A Haiku - Resistance

Updated on February 24, 2015

Persist in grace until it is succeeded by a state of glory.

To do and be our best, we must resist doing anything less when it counts so much, and life is so short.

There is a time in life to be firm, even stubborn.

Persisting in the best life;

Persevere on then!

Persistence in choosing the right....

If we know what is the right thing to do, should we settle for doing something less at times?

Who says I'm not persistent!? I persistently procrastinate! (Though I have to admit that I've washed windows and reinstalled screens already today, plus walked two miles.)

sueswan: When you adjust and do the best you can because of the circumstances, you are still doing your best and resisting doing less than that.

AudreyHowitt: Attainments in life do take perseverance and resisting settling for less than the worthwhile and righteous goals we set. I agree.

cleaner3: HP, by having a Photo capsule at the beginning of an article, has allowed the short three line Haiku to have more impact due to the captioning of that photo, the title above the photo, and then, of course, the subheading above the poem itself. I am pleased that you read the whole Hub including the caption you commented on.

ImKarn23: I suspect that you and I have a better chance of achieving our dreams due to the very point you and the Haiku declare. Persevere on then!

Gypsy Rose Lee: You voiced the common theme of the others who have taken the time to Comment. There is some unanimity here.

always exploring: The Hubbers who succeed in reaching their goals for joining HP are surely the ones who resist giving up and drifting away. So also with life and living.

picklesandrufus: You hit the dominant scoring (interesting) and a synonym for resistance and persevering, namely tenacity.

Thanks to everyone who read, and especially to each of you for commenting and adding to the discussion.

Gives us a lot to consider. Never give up, but consider everything as you go. Still thinking on this one! Vote up!!

Perfect P's sir! Sticking to what you believe to be right is not always easy - which is why most never attain their dreams!

Sir. I don't really understand haiku's the main reason is they are so short, I can not understand how people get any feeling from a poem so short. that being said, don't take me wrong I try to "get them" but it's just not my thing I guess. I am not criticizing this style of poetry, but I have to have a longer process to be able to express my point in my poetry. but if the others who understand it and say it is good . then I applaud your effort. Bravo.

P.S. I love your quote under the picture.

I actually believe that most of what we attain in life is done so through perseverance--nicely done!

      A very thought provoking haiku

We need to do our best but I think there are times that circumstances prevent us from doing so. In that case we need to do the best we can under those circumstances.

      Voted up and awesome
