A Haiku - Truth

Updated on February 25, 2015

A Haiku - Truth

Choose darkness or light.

Light shines the way to His truth;

whole, and nothing but.

Philosophers have postulated what is truth to them. In courts the truth is sworn to by average men and women...the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

So, help them God. We pray.

Seek out truth where truth is to be found....

aviannovice - I'm not sure this is the exact quote, but Willie The Shake said something like "Be true to thyself, and thou cans't not be false to any man." That's much like what you were writing.

Remarkably, truth faces us all, we must just be willing to open our eyes to it. It may not be what we want to see, but it is the truth. It is all within us, and we don't have far to look.

vocalcoach - Slight change to your quote of John 14:6 is that "no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (KJV)

John 1:17 is another good one: "Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

And John 18:37 which reads "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth."

Ericdierker - Mankind's definitions of truth can change, which is why philosophers have had such fun defining it. But, to me, truth is eternal, and for me as a Christian, the words of God, taught to His son to teach us, are eternal, and God's laws are eternal. In that we we are all judged by the same laws, with true repentance available to each of us.

Beautifully said and your photos are beautiful. Another lesson that less is more. You say so much about truth in such few words and the illustration of those words with the images. Bravo!

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Truth requires constant vigilance as it can change in a moment. Where to find it may change in any given moment. I say it is worth the trouble to chase.

      Truth is illusion

      In eye of the beholder

      Like sin, nothing more

While philosophers cannot agree on what is the true definition of truth, we average folks are supposed o know how to tell it in a court of law. Some define it as anything that edifies, and I will settle for that, unless one day a philosopher convinces me otherwise.
