A Haiku - Xenon Couple
Some couples are as rare as xenon.
Q.: What is so rare as a day in June? A.: A couple as rare as xenon.
Knowing you are rare,
As rare as xenon gas is,
I latched on to you.
Knowing I am rare,
With two children needing love,
You latched on to us.
Now, with children grown,
Their report of how we did,
Shows a couple rare.
How rare?, you ask me,
Ask them instead of ask me.
One to 1, 5, 7.
Millions try their best,
But, we unlike all the rest,
Added two plus three.
Our problems unique,
Not compared to other folks;
Just doing our best.
Within the U. S.,
3-40 million people,
Just the two of us.
_______
Note: Xenon is a gas, colorless and inert, a heavy element in air where it is 1 part by volume in 170 million parts, just as an American husband and wife are two people in what will soon enough be a USA population of 340 million. Each married couple is unique with its own unique challenges, though it exists as a very small part of the whole.
