i seek a place of solace

where the sands stop shifting

long enough

for me to catch my breath

and to free the wind of my name

such that this

long sliver of silvered light

can catch the gossamer thread of love’s heat

as it flits unerringly

toward the supple heart,

the heart made new.

Audrey, this is so beautiful. I love the word 'solace', it captures so much of the 'space' a person is in and the words 'silvered light' sounds so evanescent, there and gone. Voted up and shared, really lovely.

Beautiful, Audrey. Not being a poet myself, I am in awe of anyone who can pack so much emotion into such few words.
