A Jog of Futility

A Jog of Futility

Jumping to conclusions
is a game I'm apt to play...
A jog of pure futility
that never seems to pay.

Now, here is the dilemma
that, most often, I find true...
the perceptions of my mind
all too often, don't congrue!

My interpretations
quite often miss the mark.
I find myself assuming...
to, but, bumble in the dark!

It's never my intention
to leap before I look...
but sometimes I will jump the gun
and bite assumption's hook.

Yes, I get lots of exercise,
all jumping-jacks aside...
jumping to conclusions
in spite of Wisdom's chide.

I can clearly see it,
as this rhyme is taking shape...
Its time to do it differently,
to change this faulty tape.

So, jumping to conclusions...
is not a game i want to play.
It's a jog of pure futility,
one I'll avoid today.

.......if so, then I just love your 'work' in progress ..... and yes you are right - every writer is 'essentially' a work in progress ......

      I am neither impulsive,

      capricious or vagarious

Yet your whimsical play of words

      finds me jumping into conclusion...

you have hit the mark,a perfect 10

for such a witty and delightful read :) Thank you

Jumping to conclusions gets us where we don't want to go faster than walking gets us where we do want to go. What was that? I must have gone straight to the conclusion. Now I have to walk back and start over. Terrific job tnderhrt!

bbnix, I just LOVE your comments!!! It is a funny thing...in reality, I am defining my life...lol...methinks perhaps we are made of the same cloth...??? It is true, that I tend to get much exercise this way but my doctor is not impressed!!! I am seriously trying to ask rather than jump first...I end up with more accurate perceptions, that way!!! Much love you, as well!

Oh my great Tender, a woman so wise, you clearly have outlined my merry-go-cries. I think I'm so smart to always take part in poor old bad judgment where I'm always in dark, but unlike you, my dear new young friend, I get right back on this ride of no end...

How is it, my dear, that you keep defining my life?

Much love to my dearest of friends!!!

So true. You are right on the button here and I think everyone can identify with this. Just another aspect of "maya" that even the great Einstein was prey to. Is this the same tnderhrt23 i was reading a few weeks ago. Where is she gone? You know the one I'm talking about...the mother of sorrows!

Your hubs have transformed like a caterpillar into a butterfly. Fantastic!
