Poem | A Letter to The God

Updated on April 29, 2011

My Dear God,

I am writing this letter

Because I love you,

And I have very few

Whom I can say this!

I know that

It’s not possible

For you to know

A little boy like me,

Who lives

In a countryside slum,

Far from those big towns.

But my mom told me

‘Rick,

God knows everyone,

Especially

A small child like you’

I don’t want to bother you,

I don’t need anything.

My mom is a maid,

Works for those lucky people,

Who have a lot of food to eat,

A lot of cloths to wear.

No God,

I am not complaining,

I have cloths,

Enough for me!

Mom used to bring

Old cloths

From those lucky children,

Who often leave those,

As soon as they get

Some new sets.

But I want to tell you one thing,

This is very confidential,

Don’t even disclose it to Mom!

I like the smell of new cloths.

Oh God! It’s so nice!

I won’t wear it even if I get!

We get enough food also,

My mom used to bring

The leftover

From those houses,

For whom she works.

We often get

Varieties of food,

All are really good!

But I must confess,

I like the hot smoky food,

Which my mom rarely cooks.

Yes rarely,

Because

She doesn’t have the time.

I am so sorry God!

I have bothered you!

I know

You don’t have enough time,

For a small boy,

Like me.

I know

You have to

Listen to others,

Who have a lot of demand!

People need so much!

My dear God,

I don’t want anything!

But I will continue to write,

Not because I want something!

But because I love you!

And I have very few

Whom I can say this!

Thank you MFB for stopping by. You have rightly said that we all should be grateful to GOD for what we are and also we should help who are in need. Thanks again MFB!

Oh, to be grateful for what we have no matter how little, even to God who could, by his massive power give us so much more, but sadly he gave men freewill and expects others to help others in order for them to get heavenly rewards later. So that is why it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of the a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. They forget to be grateful to God for their success, and they also forget to help the lesser souls who are in need. Great write~~~~MFB III

Well done. Interesting way to tackle this kind of thing, my friend. I hesitate to say it, but a bit of editing would make a big difference...

And I have very few (to, either here, or on the next line)

      Whom I can say this!

Sorry, but it reads awkwardly in a few places.

Great poem, however. Keep it up and I'll be back for more!
