A Lovers Cry

Updated on June 2, 2013

I'm tired
Tired from guessing - tired from all the games

life and death
life and death
now it's
life or death

A pinprick of existence - narrow insight all I could see
was delusions and you; the monkeys on my back

All I see are lies
and mean mean little games

Little boys with no sight
Futile hopes
with angels on my side

Hatred - the murder in my heart.

So very very tired of you and me
the fight - the flight
and the chase in hopes of light

Deaths scent still lingers on me - just barely
I push it past the trees - your ghosts, your bidder
skries for my eye-

It dried my skin and bleached me dry
of vitamin and nutrient
It's brought me to my knees -
its killed the life inside of me
sparks it took

Like a drug in my drink - a lie in my rig
Hope futile; angels on my side

Hours may pass
until I think I can see
behind doors you hide
lying all the time
forced from your pride
handcuffed to the darkness

I hear your screams
I cry-
I reach for you
but always you take
another hand
forcing you further from my grasp
My exhausted rescue
another failed attempt -

you fall
further
and further from
me

His Angels
Your Demons
His light
Your darkness
His grace
Your possession.

I'm hiding now - In the light
Pushing away the shadows of you and me
the skrier and a princess
the succubus and his claim
washing away and down the mountain
Natural springs crystal clear; it's guide.

Wow is right. This is very emotional. We have all been in that kind of tug of war at one time or another. Very well written and the images are palpable.

      frankieonfire,

I must say... Colin (Epigramman), specifically requested, that I specifically, come check you out, specifically! :-) I'm so glad I did, what a powerhouse you are! What a piece, so moving and powerful, the hurt and pain is felt in the bones.

That blew me away! I can absolutely relate to this piece and you've executed it wonderfully! That Colin's a smart man! :D

I am delighted to see all your lovely faces gracing my page! Thanks so much for reading. Heartache for poets serves as a graceful pen. Glad to see such ugly memories return in healing. Epigramman - is such a blessing. Cheers to you all!

What a corker. Frankie...honestly, this is stunning. You have such a power over words. Some writers just write. You write on a higher plain of existence. There is always some incredible truth or story or sense of drama behind what you create. Or the tortured soul in the case of this beautiful hub, which I just had to tweet. Your collection of hubs is impressive. I am so happy to see your great writing always.

You should collect these amazing hubs together and figure out a book and compile it please. I would be so happy to buy it. :)

Ahh, Astra - thank you! Your words are always so warm and welcome here on my hubs. Your words are as light as your spirit. I am beginning to realize I love as a writer does all her subjects. Perhaps I am a witless romantic after all..

I have most of them ready - just sorting the other details. I will keep you informed! Cheers to you - thank you for reading my words.
