A Mile Away, Is a Mile Too Far
You're thousands of miles away from me
But it might as well be one mile
For you are too far away from me
If you cannot kiss my smile.
If you think of me as I think of you
Then these are things you’re feeling too.
But remember this, my love to be
I’m with you and you’re with me.
No, not in person, that’s not what I mean
In everything else that’s unforeseen.
When the sun is shining, that is me
Wrapping my arms ‘round you tightly.
When the rain is falling, those are my tears
For minutes apart feel like hundreds of years.
When the wind is blowing, I whisper to you
Sweet nothings, secrets and my fantasies too.
When the stars are twinkling, to you I am winking
And letting it known, it’s of you I am thinking.
When the moon lights your night, it is really my eye
Telling you baby, I’m always close by.
When the sky is blue and no clouds at all
That is my promise we can make this long haul.
When the dew in the morning, you find as you wake
That is a hint of the magic only you and I can make.
When we come together like the horizon and the sun
The beauty we make will be repeated by none.
Oh how I yearn now, for the sunset
When it meets the horizon, our troubles, forget.
