A Miracle with the Worst of Intentions

Updated on November 29, 2010

I Wish this season was pure of intent...

But I didn't make up the rules...

A brother of mine...

who happened to be divine...

started it once upon a time...

His mother on earth gave him air when it was nice...

shepherds were watching sheep not ice...

the date almost lost...

not considering the cost...

what his death means to us now.

His murderers tried to bury his story...

they couldn't succeed but they tried...

His records were death to their keepers...

but their blood witnessed he hadn't lied...

When those who believed gained power...

even if their methods weren't right...

Rome polluted the dirty water with some of their own...

Christianity was born in the night.

They took a pagan God and transformed him...

sold his day as the day of the Son...

It became an orgy not changed by the change...

a blasphemy to the Holy One.

Time passed and the Son went on living...

His followers not one of the crowd...

they hadn't a day to remember...

the way it was on that night long ago...

they took what day had been given...

they used it to do what was right...

their bells and their songs...

preachings, right or wrong...

fill the air each year of red and white...

So it is that we keep the sacred Christmas...

not because it was the Christmas of old...

It is the time when we do what is right..

honor the Son of Light being bold...

today it isn't easy all over...

keeping this day like before...

we must do it behind walls...

in private deck the halls...

giving to poor of our gold...

Somehow it is fitting all the same...

we do in private to His name...

So forget how this became the time of the Son...

If we don't it is us He will blame.

      Dave, Doug and saddlerider1...

      your praise enlarges me...

but it wasn't your praise I sought...

      I'm happy you had fun...

and before I cut and run...

it pleases me that you found beauty...

in this tribute to the Holy One.

Many a story be told of the man who died for all mankind

A wonderful story with meaning beyond understanding for many yet to see

a simple message taken out of time and passed down through generations with an echo still reverberating through centuries with the same message of LOVE from a man possessed with dying to save mankind

This was a lovely poem and the message was there..peace and love

Daveprice has it right: beautifully told and a very important story. Whether Christian or not, the impact of this story affects everyone on earth.

Beautiful, and beyond that the words escape me. I need to spend more time just soaking it in. Absolutely beautiful!
