A Morning Of Organizing

Updated on August 7, 2014

A Little At A Time

After years we end up with more than we realize

Things accumulate and add up

I love books so I have a lot more than my share

My wife loves to sew so we have her little sewing table and material

Then there are odds and ends that are special

A lamp, t.v ., table and futon for guests

I think everything has a place

In a small home you have to set limits

You want to be able to be comfortable in a style all your own

I opened the window to let the fresh air in

With it came new thoughts and ideas

Now fixing my books and a few cd's that I enjoy very much

I also have old board games since I was a kid

That take up some room but worth it because they are so much fun to play

Being a writer I have copies of everything I find interesting

From articles to adds

Then the pile of numerous stories never finished

There are a few boxes that are a working progress

Some things from my mom

That trigger so many good memories we had

I know life goes on and the future is exciting and filled with unlimited potential

It is always nice to reminisce and relax

In a world that is focused on bigger and better

I choose the simple life

That maybe doesn't have all the bells and whistles

By the end of the day

Is sweeter and nicer

In many different ways

I have never wanted anything else but the simple life and to enjoy things like nature. My happiest days are at home with no reason to spend money.

The Examiner-1 I use to think more room was the answer but with more room comes more things. So I try to see what I don't use anymore and give some things away. Making some improvements or so I thought. Thank you for reading and sharing. Good luck with your progress and with a little time maybe it will all come together.

That was beautiful DREAM ON and it is right because it happens to most of us. I moved from about 3 or 4 houses to this one and now my parents have passed away. I got rid of stuff each time but now the garage is full of parents things. I voted it up++, shared and pinned it.

Victoria Lynn I would of listed more things but I didn't want to scare away my readers. It's a life process. Fixing and organizing so everything looks nice and not cluttered. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your cleaning. I love suggestions if you have any that come to mind. As long as throw out is not part of it. Have a good day.

So true, so true! I have been working all year on going through things and getting rid of things. I'm a packrat, so it's difficult, but I have made progress. Loved your poem!

jhamann It is easy to get caught up with buying, spending and thinking I need more or sometimes new. When what you have works for the purpose intended no need to expand and get more with it will come more needs and responsibility and effort. Time is the most precious of all why would you diminish it. Thank you for reading and taking your time to leave a nice comment. It is sweet to read nice things before I go to bed. It is like having a slice of fresh homemade frosted chocolate cake the one my mother use to make to end my day. I love it so much.
