A Mother's Love She Cannot Hide

Updated on December 2, 2010

A Mother

You were born to be blessed,

With lots of happiness,

Feeling the love,

Of your mother's warm embrace,

Gently touching your lovely face….

Never leaving your side,

A mother’s love,

She cannot hide…

She will hold you up,

When it’s your turn to cry….

With you always on her mind,

She worries about you,

Making sure that your fine…

Knowing that one day things won’t go your way…

All she can do for you is pray.

Teaching you the wrongs from the right,

She hopes that one day,

You will use it to take flight,

There is nothing she can do,

But hope for the best for you…..

She is your biggest cheerleader,

With all that you do,

She will love you forever,

And make the ultimate sacrifices for you…

She is your mother,

Your friend,

The one who loves you more,

It’s you that your mother will always adore.

Mother's are beautiful indeed. They aren't perfect, and I think it's their imperfection that we learn from. But mother's are special. They love us unconditionally, their always there when we need them, always cheering us on. Even when life isn't at it's "perfect" for them and for us. I didn't grow up in a perfect home. My father was abusive physically & mentally towards my mother. Because of this a lot of times, I had to be the mother to my siblings. My mother was always broken. But when she was well... She would always tell us, "Love" is all we needed to survive. Love will bring a family through the toughest times. Because of this, I never gave up on her and she never gave up on me. I spent years... as a child trying to build my mother's self-esteem so that she would have the courage to leave my father. She finally had enough when he turned his focus on me one day for protecting my mother. That was the day, she had him escorted away from the house. He took everything and left us with nothing. It was my Mother's love that kept us alive. Life wasn't easy after that, but we made it. Today both my parents are really good friends, and my Mother re-married. My Father never remarried, because he could never love anyone else besides my Mother; although... he does have a girlfriend. Today we are all in a good place, Thanks To God.

But as a Mother myself...I am so grateful for the life I had. Because of it... I give my kids a great life. Happy Mother's Day every day!

This was so beautiful it made me cry. You speak of the unconditional love a mother has for her children so well. It made me think of what my mother has always done for me and been there to support me through my life and how now I do that for my children. This is very special!!!

Beautiful words about mothers. They are our best friends in this world and always there for us.

God bless and thanks for sharing these wonderful thoughts.

P.S. I also wrote something about mothers recently: 'Dear Mummies.' You might like to take a look sometime.
