A Movie Inside Your Heart

Updated on May 15, 2013

They shot a movie inside your heart
They wanted a story about love and pain
But it also had to be about the truth
Would you ever watch the past again?

The raw nerves of your life loom
No amount of flesh can play pretend
As the camera moves closer
You asked them to remove the lens

Faraway lands whisper in your ears
For you always live your dreams
You never feel the weight of distance
When imagination plays your heart strings

Yet what you wish to conceal
Are not so much your dreams
But instead your doubts and fears
Who do not live for movie screens

Forward lands return to what you knew
Nothing you see can prepare a moment
It happens as you intended all along
Because it was what you would have chosen
