A New Approach to Poetry

Updated on October 6, 2012
Getting "froggie"..take a leap
Getting "froggie"..take a leap

Staggered formation..rhyming of verses and every other one also.

A warming bed..
the Summer's made...
Is now a time to arise

We must leave,.

Time to be dressed...

to smell the coffee, fine.

Face the music.
to dance and play a part.
we each must surmise,...

To all be dressed,

leaving the best,our rest.

on a pillow, far behind.

We greet the day, ...
in brisk airs, so cold,....
Autumn's way of welcoming,

dropping of leaves,..

a refreshing breeze,..

changing seasons, beckoning.

Sun's up to stay,.....
in efforts to cajole,.....
to meet the day of reckoning.

Wearing of sleeves,

so sure to please,....

in Fall of the year, a happening.

Your new approach is as fresh as your blow-by-blow.

I love this. I find that as I am writing that if we clutter poems with too many rhymes, the cadence is spoilt!! Thanks for this lovely lesson, which I share, whonunuwho!

Thanks midget and Mhatter99, for your fond responses. It is fun to deviate from the norm every so often, just for the fun of it.

Nice. I think poetry should just flow from the heart; not take a given path. That's the beauty of poetry.
