A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose Book Review

Updated on July 13, 2013

A Book Review of Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth: Awakening to your Life's Purpose"

Eckhart Tolle hits it right on the head once more with his no-nonsense, awakened-to-consciousness approach. He gets to the “how” of your purpose, not the “what” – that part is up to you.

He addresses the issue of the ego. When you are fully awakened and conscious, your ego is not involved. One section of chapter three is titled, “Do You Want Peace or Drama?” Another section in that same chapter states that your true self is beyond ego.

The “pain-body” is a major topic in this book. Tolle describes how emotion and carrying the past feeds into developing a stronger pain body and how doing that keeps us from living our life’s purpose. Tolle’s wisdom gives you ways to break identifying with the pain-body, finding out who you truly are, not minding what happens and how several breathing and thought techniques can benefit us by drawing out the true self within.

I recommend this book to anyone desiring to break away from self-defeating practices and choosing to determinedly strive towards fulfilling the ultimate reason they are here.
