A New Leaf: A Poem
A new leaf shows itself,
Bursting from the brittle bark,
Bringing hope to an old tree,
And yet someday it will decay,
Wither, brown, and die,
Still now it lives happily,
Not knowing of its certain demise,
It grows outward and upward,
Bravely, it reaches to the sun,
Longing for tomorrow,
And growing for today.
