A New Pope- acrostic poem

Updated on March 22, 2013
Newly elected Pope Francis.
Newly elected Pope Francis. | Source

The time had come to fill

Pope Benedict's shoes;

The air was swelling with

Exciting news.

Who would have thought

He would come from

The second largest

Port city

To Represent

Our Lord in the

Vatican.

From what we can see,

This chosen man is:

P rayerful, always

O bedient to his call;

P erpetual in Hope

E minent to us all.

F raternal like the chosen Apostles,

R ighteous to his appointed place

A nointed with healing in Hand and Word;

N oble and trustworthy;

C hrist Like,

I nspirational,

S acramental- to lead the Church

in the best way he can.

Let us give thanks to God that they have chosen a

Strong man of Faith, who will support us in Love

Who communicates daily for us to the

Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Many blessings shall come, I pray

For not just the Catholic faith

But all Faiths around the world.

What he does will be effective

For all of us.

      Beautiful! I already like Pope Francis better than the last one. He seems to live the life and walk the walk not just talk about peace, hope, and love. He seems to really connect with the poor in the world and tries his best not to live an empty, phony pope life. So far, I give him two thumbs up!

      This was very beautifully written. This is a new day for Catholics around the world and I hope it is a new day for all people regardless of their faith.

      May your poem be a prayer, and be fulfilled. On a personal level, it already is. Through Francis's prayer, may God expand his consciousness to bring light to heal the sad weaknesses of the Church to make it a Bride worthy of God.

      Beautiful acrostic poetry. I agree that the new pope will attempt to bring all faiths together in love and universal harmony. I have a good feeling about a new beginning of understanding. Thank you..Peace...
