A New and Better Year

Updated on December 27, 2016

The years come and go,

Old news fades into darkness.

Better days ahead.

A new time breeds hope,

We move away from starkness.

Put all fears to bed.

Better days ahead,

For past wrongs, ask forgiveness,

All the hungry fed.

Give needy shelter,

Clothes on backs, all providing.

Place to rest each head.

Provide for each need,

Watching our country succeed.

For this soldiers bled.

We stand hand in hand,

Across our wonderful land.

Every child is led.

The people of our country are strong and see through the shams and cover-ups we all see daily. We have become immune to the dishonesty and will seek to overcome it all as we move ahead in our lives. No one can control our determination and we will be successful in coming together as one nation. Blessings my friend. whonu

This is the year we need to come together more than ever before. Our welfare may just be up to us and us alone.

I do pray that we start the year right by helping others in need. Very inspiring words to hear as we begin 2017.

Your poem suggests practical, necessary ways to improve beginning with the new year. Thanks for all the inspiration you have given and will give in the new year through your poetry.

Change "For this soldiers bled." to "For these soldiers bled." Great effort.
