A Pen, a Page

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

A pen a page a furtive glance,

a sense of wonder a blind romance,

a thought a breeze a ray of sun,

a word to start and soon its done.

With coffee in hand and cat on lap,

I tear at words and mash them up,

until they find themselves disrupt,

and sense of it remains.

They’re mine these thoughts, that plead, distort,

and place they find with style,

unto my page with shallow rage,

and render them worthwhile.

For I am a pawn in this piece reborn,

my mind a path for mirth,

an intellectual spin, a grandma’s grin,

my soul at peace with girth.

A poet of degree, a man of seed,

my mind a feast for expression,

on paper white I do resite,

and balance my depression.

This one, my 500th
