A Poem- I have fallen

Updated on June 29, 2012

You can- You will!

You are stronger than you think, and can endure life's storms.

There is dignity in surviving after you fall.

The world is cruel- It can be frightening and at times lonesome, specially after you fall, fail or change.

And strength when standing back up.

Beyond the fear of the unknown, is a strength that each must find and use to stand back up and continue to fight for our dreams and futures. Never give up the fight- You are worth it!

It is not about never falling down- It is about getting back up and trying again!

I have fallen,

I have dropped,

I have tumbled down,

And tripped when I tried to stand up.

I have fallen from grace,

Lost everything.

Risen back up,

To regain my strength.

I have dropped to my knees,

Bowed my head in shame,

Joined my hands together,

And remembered how to pray.

I have tumbled from the top,

Taken the hard way down.

I created my own hell,

Without a doorway to get out.

I have tripped on my feet,

And landed face first in the ground,

Cloaked in humiliation,

I let my fears shut the world out.

There have been times I did not know,

Which way was up or which way was down.

So I crawled on the floor,

And became who it is I am now.

Even in the darkest of hours,

I found my strength to hold on,

And I fought through the pain and challenge,

To write the lyrics of my life’s song.

I have taken life’s poisons.

I have spiraled around.

I searched within my silence,

Before I discovered a way to make a sound.

I have fallen,

I have dropped.

I found my voice,

Now I am standing up.

Face the future, and let go of the past.

Face the future, and let go of the past. Your mistakes of yesterday will ruin you plans for tomorrow, if you allow it to. Don't allow it to.

Lovely hub Holly, this was something of a downer type of a poem that truly was uplifting though, it shows you've been through a great deal in life, and maintained inner and out strength no matter what, and took the punches, but kept on going (It doesn't have to be you per say, but I figured why not right).

Its a cool sort of self help poem, and I definitely can relate to this sort of stubborn determination not to give up, nicely written and smoothly done.

Voted up and out as you already know I enjoy doing when I locate a top notch hub or poem. Cheers! to great poetry writing.

Made- thank you for reading and I am glad that you liked it. I have an outlook on life that is more/less; we all fall- it is the will to continue moving forward that shows our strength. I am not ready to give up just yet... i think that life has something magical in the future, I aim to be here when it arrives :)

Holly, how sweet of you to write a poem about me! :) Beautifully written, a testament to all the survivors out there, who have held on to the little glimmer of hope and never gave up. I admire you greatly my friend; you are the little sister I wish I had.

Sending happiness and a cyber hub to you,

      bill

      Honestly speaking, those bold lines:

"It is not about never falling down- It is about getting back up and trying again!"

...simply worked as a spoiler, and I failed to enjoy your poem. Please don't do that the next time.

Regarding the poem, I can't comment as I already said I lost my interest after reading the very first para.
