A Poet Lost ..in His Own Mind

Updated on September 1, 2013
Source

Frustrations overwhelm... my weary soul, am I ready... to meet my Saviour, or is it just an old man searching for something .. never to be..

Life is a heavy load... when one day you look into the mirror and see yourself.. truly understanding, that you are this person .. this lonely man, who kept his soul so guarded

One who treated love as a toy.. at first it was wonderful, you played with it, then pleasure overcame wonder, until you were so bored.. the pleasure of love, became commonplace..

You threw Love around like a worn out Teddy Bear, until the seams burst... showing you the feathered softness that could fill... any dark hole in your heart.

Beautiful poem with some very unique word choices that paint the image of this man reflecting on life and love to the reality of how he thinks he has misused a precious gift. It is subtle but the message in it is very clear. Absolutely love this - good structure, flow and something that any reader will be able to relate to.

Wow, very dramatic piece to say the least! Yes, when one is left that weary of this burdensome life, we have only one choice in whom to look, for He does give rest to the weary! Up and more

Oh, we cannot have such, and I am truly very sorry, Michael, that you were depressed, and your word here ..."were" makes me feel a bit more happy for you, as it truly saddens my heart when I know a friend is down. I am glad the Lord has given you such a gift, for I know just how much your writing does provide great relief, especially in this area.

      Hugs, Faith Reaper

Wow! Such an interesting poem and thoughts that I'm sure many of us oldies can relate to. How wonderful that our Creator does not toss us away when we're feeling dark and jaded, but rather picks us up and gives us strength to continue until it's time to go Home. God bless you.
