A Puzzle at Christmas ( a poem of intrigue of the name game)

My Favorite All time Seven Entertainers

My favorites, there characters, from coast to coast,

these seven comedians and great talk show hosts,

One likes his special cars and of this, he boasts,

and the hours of late nights, was quite the toast,

This young man, is so talented, and can do it all,

he mimics and sings, can act, then has a ball,

A fine replacement of renown, only one could be,

and not a better choice, can be seen on T.V.

We laugh at this bright star, and is much fun to see,

though green with envy, you all soon may just be,

A little eccentric, and at times so peculiar, is he,

We each may die of absurdity, in the first degree.

This lady is so humorous, and much a diva, is she,

Her antics are so clever, causes our worries all to flee.

As a Christmas carol of the season, is our delight,

this comic, so beloved, like a star, burns so bright.

Clem and the hobo, are both to be favorites of mine,

And on the stage his fine humor did really so shine.

A source of raucous laughter, to be our only recourse,

His weekly bits on the tube, such an awesome force.

This host is quite a gag, and our late night avenue,

His giggle and with a hiccup, entertains me and you,

He is so tall, we all look small, to adjust our T.V. sets,

His laughs all supply the gas, that his remarks each lets.

I saved the best for last, this comic of the most high regards,

His antics and charm, from his heart, to be a hundred yards.

A martian role, as a sit-com name, clues to this great star,

He shall always reign in every way, so defines who we all are.

Another stanza I'll donate to him, and is the least that I can do,

A majestic role in a foreign war, for us each, such an enticing clue.

Flubber, a pirate, were such joyful roles, and only revealed a part,

He gave the whole world fun, he was the one, always in our heart.

It's now up to you with every clue, and then to find out just who,

Make a list, you can't resist, of the fun things, all left to do.

The Majestic Seven entertainers, are each a part of our lives,

Helps along life's road, relieves the load, and to insure, all thrives.

I like the verses although I wouldn't be good at guessing since I'm not familiar with many TV personalities. Very creative and challenging!

That's what's throwing me. Green. Envy. I'm thinking The Riddler, but you already shot down Jim Carrey. The only other names I can come up with are Shecky Greene or Frank Gorshin, but I don't think either one of them fit the rest of the clues.

You must have intimidated the rest of your followers, David. No one else is calling on their deductive reasoning to play this game.

Shame on them! I love the challenge!

Number 3 has me stumped, whonu. I'm not sure what era to think back to for the answer. Hopefully someone else will come in and play with us!

      K. I'll try again.

      3. Tim Conway (this probably isn't right either, but I think he's a riot!)

      4. Carol Burnett
