A Review of 'Autobiography of a Yogi' AUM
You have come to earth to entertain and to be entertained.
— Paramahansa Yogananda, Autobiography of a YogiThis work is a stepping stone for many in their maturing. And, even though I haven't read it straight through since late in 2014, I continue to acknowledge the immense power of this artistic and successful endeavor. 'Autobiography of a Yogi' is one of the greatest works of art ever created. And, I mean that not only in the realms of written art. This work is incredible, and it deserves to be read. Clearly, this is one of my all-time favorite books.
Paramahansa Yogananda was a man of a fascinating life, and of many talents. One of those talents was his ability with words. He was a poet in too many fashions to describe by more words about his own words. It wouldn't be problematic to cogitate on the idea of the man's genius, nor would it be erroneous to call him one. There are some very exceptional reasons as to why Yogananda is one of the most notable and famous of all recent "Eastern gurus" to set their feet in the "West".
There is something magical that occurs to our inner depths as we read the book. Like 'The Power of Now', this read is one part of our better meditations. It has a kind of charm to it that is so very unique. There is no other book like it. Even the texture of the soft cover version of the printed piece has a smell and feel that makes it superb. "Autobiography of a Yogi' is one book that can be read again and again without getting bored.
'Autobiography of a Yogi'
Have you read 'Autobiography of a Yogi'?
It can be difficult to place a single digit on it, but Yogananda's writing style is worthy of note. This particular book is not his only work that shows this. However, it is perhaps his best artistic model stressing the written word. No one else quite applies English the way that Paramahansa Yogananda did.
Look fear in the face and it will cease to trouble you.
— Paramahansa Yogananda, Autobiography of a Yogi'Autobiography of a Yogi'
'Autobiography of a Yogi' has already gained a reputation to being something of a modern classic. That is - relatively speaking, of course. The work was first published in 1946, so it's been around for a little while. Even so, whilst some classics are picked out of hundred or thousands of pieces over the course of thousands of years, 'Autobiography of a Yogi' is one of the few writings in the last hundred years that can be compared to the greatest literature of all time.
Stillness is the altar of spirit.
— Paramahansa Yogananda, Autobiography of a YogiI will allow and encourage you all to read the book to learn more. Still, I will announce that I give this book five stars in total out of five possible. Please do not stop here. In the comments below, please tell me what you think. Is this book any good in your mind? Do you enjoy the author? Do you like any kind of yoga? Your thoughts count no matter what they are.
