Help Me

I WAS CLEANING OUT SOME DRAWERS AND CAME ACROSS THIS VERSE. If anyone can tell me who wrote it I would be forever is very nice...

A smile costs nothing, but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. I takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad and it is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give. :o)

Isn't that wonderful?? It sounds famiiar to me but cannot for the life of me remember why??? G-ma :o)

Here is another Smile poem you will love.I also was cleaning and found this one.

      A smile

      Smilimg is infectious,

you catch it like the flu.

when someone smiled at me today'

      I started smiling too.

      I passed around the corner,

      And someone saw my grin.

      When he smiled I realized,

I'd passed it on to him.

      I thought about that smile,

      then I realized it's worth.

A single smile just like mine,

      could travel 'round the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin,

      Don't leave it undetected.

      Let's start an epidmic quick,

      and get the world infected!

Have been looking for this poem for a very long time. The first time i saw it was in a Readers Digest magazine from about 1973 ish. If you read it a few times its so true, and its all in the last line, The magazine back then also said, Anon for the author.

This is a wonderful quote and some good soul wrote it out for a sticker or poster, and it was so good that everybody copied it for their use. This quote is as infectious as a smile!

I googled the quote for you, but it says everywhere that the author is unknown.
